Masons Island Yacht Club will be hosting the 2010 Shields Nationals in September and we welcome all Shields sailors to the historic sailing hamlet of Mystic, Connecticut. Founded in the 1600s, and home to the Mystic Seaport, the world's largest museum dedicated to seafaring, Mystic is home to some of the best racers and competitive racing in the world. The Nationals will be sailed in Fishers Island Sound, where the first J24 was built and sailed, and where sightings of nuclear submarines heading to sea from the US Sub Base, and the Coast Guard Eagle sailing from the US Coast Guard Academy, are not unusual.
